Karen and Kirk Whitney have a great location overlooking Diamond Lake, but... their house is tiny!

They wanted to expand but keep the lake cottage feel and the view of the lake. Their wish list included a New Entry, a Master Bedroom Suite, Living Room, Dining Room, Sewing Room and a two bay Garage. The project was made more challenging by the large ledge that obstructed expansion in the only direction possible.

We responded by suggesting bridging the ledge on the main level and inserting the garage below against the ledge. We added about 1,200 square feet while keeping most of the existing cottage.
